PARADIGMA's Rudolf Bauer addressed an audience of experts and business professionals gathered in Bergamo to exchange views on current industry trends and their implications for Italian business. Drawing on numerous engagements and his international transport consulting activities, his presentation focussed on the challenges faced by port authorities as well as some of the measures European ports have been implemented to address them.
In subsequent discussions with Italian port managers and transportation service providers, it became apparent, that
- ports are transforming into comprehensive logistics platforms;
- supply chain requirements are increasingly determining the investment agenda's of ports and that
- ports are becoming more competitive.
